♻️ It's been a couple of months now since our area introduced waste separation, and honestly... I think it's a step in the right direction. These days we're sorting our rubbish into: 🌿 Garden waste (dry waste) 🍎 Food scraps (wet waste) 🗑️ Residual waste (everything else) And if it's not sorted correctly, the rubbish doesn't get collected. Like any new system, there have been a few teething problems. We had to buy new bins, create space for them, learn new habits and figure out what goes where. Then there's the challenge of making sure the process is followed all the way through, from collection to waste management. Change takes time. New habits take time. New systems take time. But overall, I feel positive about it. If we want things to improve, sometimes the first step is simply starting. Will it be perfect overnight? No. But if more waste can be diverted from landfill and managed more responsibly, that's something worth working towards ♻️🤍 I'm hopeful this is a change that continues to grow and improve over time. Do you separate your household waste where you live? 👇🌏
