Homeschooling looked a little different today π±π€ This term we've been focusing on our vegetable garden and learning about plant life cycles. But one of the things I love most about homeschooling is that sometimes the best lessons aren't the ones you planned. They're the ones that start with a simple question. Today we were sitting around eating salak (snake fruit) when one of the kids asked: "Do you think these seeds would grow if we planted them?" And just like that, our afternoon changed direction π A quick bit of research later and we decided to run an experiment. π± Seed #1: Straight into the soil π± Seed #2: Soaked for 12 hours first π± Seed #3: Soaked for 24 hours first Now we wait and see which method works best. As if that wasn't enough gardening for one day, my latest Tokopedia order also arrived... zucchini seeds! π So of course those got planted too. This is what I love most about learning at home. A simple question becomes research. Research becomes an experiment. And suddenly the kids are learning because they're genuinely curious about the answer. Of course we still cover the basics. Reading. Writing. Math. Spelling. But having the time and space to follow interests and explore ideas is something I value so much. The learning feels real because it matters to them. Now wish us luck π€π Hopefully in a few years we'll be harvesting our own salak and looking back at the day this little experiment began π΄β¨
