Final day on Nusa Penida π΄π€ Before we jumped on the boat back to Bali, we thought we'd answer some of the questions we get asked most often about visiting the island π ποΈ Is Nusa Penida worth visiting? Absolutely. The landscapes are some of the most dramatic and beautiful you'll find anywhere in Bali. β΄οΈ How long is the boat ride? Most fast boats take around 30β45 minutes depending on weather and departure point. π How many days do you need? You can do a day trip, but we'd recommend at least minimum 2β3 nights if you want to slow down and actually enjoy the island. π Do you need a driver? For most visitors, yes. The roads can be rough in some areas and having a local driver makes exploring much easier. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Is Nusa Penida good for families? Yes, but with some planning. Many of the viewpoints have steep cliffs and uneven paths, so you'll want to keep a close eye on younger children. π Can you swim at all the beaches? Not always. Some of the island's most famous beaches are known more for their views than safe swimming conditions, so always check local advice. π° Is it expensive? We found accommodation, food and transport to be fairly reasonable, especially compared to some of Bali's busier tourist areas. πΆ Does phone reception work? Mostly yes, but it can be patchy in some areas of the island. βοΈ Best time to visit? Dry season generally offers the calmest conditions, but Nusa Penida is beautiful year-round. For us, the biggest surprise wasn't the views... It was how quickly island life slows you down. A few days away from Bali felt like a completely different holiday πβ¨ Would we go back?
