We’ve started spotting them in our backyard again, so it’s a good reminder to stay aware. Tomcats - These little beetles (Paederus) don’t bite or sting, but if you crush them on your skin or scare them they release a toxin that can cause painful burns and blisters. If you see one: • Don’t swipe or squash it • Gently blow it off • Wash the area with soap and water if there’s contact We’re getting ready to treat the yard, but sharing this as a reminder to keep an eye out, especially with kids around.
